Baby Shower!

Saturday, March 24: "Baby Bear is so blessed to have each of you in his life."

Week 27 Update

(27.9 weeks)

My sweet, sweet baby -

This was such an exciting week for your mommy and I can't wait to tell you all about it! It started with my second consultation at a local pediatric office on Tuesday. Similar to my first appointment, I was a little nervous but super excited to see if this was the right doctor's office for you (your cousins Amelia and Benton also go here). Mommy was given a tour with two other mommies-to-be, both of which were ready to meet their little babies any day. We met four of the doctors on our tour and they were all great (although I think you'll like the boy doctors best, they were really funny). After our behind-the-scenes tour, we were escorted to the lobby where we discussed the nitty gritty details (hours, immunizations, etc.). Everyone was so friendly and organized, the office was clean and welcoming, and it just felt right. I think you are going to love it there!

On Thursday, your daddy said he was going to work late and stop at the grocery store on the way home. This gave me plenty of time to start cleaning the house for all of our visitors for your baby shower. When Daddy pulled in the garage, I walked out to greet him and someone hopped out of the passenger seat. It was...

Your cousin, Gabby!! She flew all the way from Wisconsin to surprise Mommy and Daddy kept it a secret the whole time. They are so sneaky! Daddy grilled steak for dinner and we all stayed up talking about Gabby's upcoming move to NC for school ;) What a great start to a wonderful weekend!

On Friday, Gabby and Mommy went shopping for a baby shower dress and finished cleaning the house for our visitors later that evening. Around dinner time, GiGi T, Aunt Kayla, Aunt Morgan, Aunt Alayna, Great Grandma Springer, Great Papa Springer, Great Grandma Bastien, and Great Grandpa Bastien all arrived!! A few of us went grocery shopping at Sam's Club for the shower before coming home to a pizza party. The rest of the night was filled with lots of laughter, last minute preparations for Saturday, and an endless supply of GiGi T kisses!!

Everyone was up bright and early on Saturday morning. We loaded the food and gifts in three cars and took off for Mrs. Mary's house. When Mommy arrived, she was greeted by so many family and friends (one of which was Aunt Pam!!! She drove all the way from Michigan by herself to be there for your shower. You are so loved!). While Mommy visited with all of our guests, your Aunt Kayla (the best baby shower host ever) was busy buzzing around making sure everything was perfect. The morning was filled with fun games, yummy food, and lots and lots of gifts (I hate to break it to ya kid, but you are spoiled rotten).

At the end of the shower we loaded the gifts in five cars (I know!) and set off for home. I couldn't wait to show your daddy all of the fun new toys and adorable outfits. It took an army to unload everything, but the rest of the day was devoted to building bouncers, hanging clothes, and finding somewhere to store everything.

We are still working on getting a bookcase and toy chest for your room, but for now your closet will have to suffice.

Sadly, the weekend flew by. It seemed like everyone left just as quickly as they came, but we are so excited to see them all again when you arrive!

Our sweet baby boy,

You are blessed and loved by so many. We truly hope you always remember how special you are. We love you and are so excited to meet you.

All our love,

Daddy & Mommy
